Amàre Ibiza: The Perfect Adults Only Escape

For our 48 hours in Ibiza, we wanted somewhere that captured the island’s vibe but with no pressure, no kids and all the sunshine, sea views and serenity I had been craving! That’s how we found ourselves at Amàre Hotel Ibiza and I can honestly say, we hit the nail on the head!

Amàre ticked every single box. In this piece, I’ll walk you through our stay – what stood out, what surprised us and why I think it’s one of the best choices for an adults only trip to Ibiza. And if you’re curious about how the rest of our 48 hour adventure played out, you can check out my other blog post here for the full itinerary, highlights and my top tips for making the most of a weekend on my favourite island.

First Impressions

We arrived around 11 am (very early by hotel check-in standards) and were handed vouchers for a welcome drink – a nice touch that instantly set the tone. Even better, our room was already prepared and waiting for us, which was ideal as our plan was to head straight out to a pool party!

From the moment we walked into the lobby, the design caught our eye: huge floor to ceiling windows flooded the space with that bright Mediterranean light and through them we could already see the pool and the bay beyond. The décor was modern and minimalist with white walls, natural textures and a calming colour palette. Why does an aesthetically pleasing hotel make all the difference to your experience?!

The setting in Cala de Bou, along San Antonio Bay, is perfect – close enough to the action but far enough away to feel like a little pocket of calm. As it’s adults only (16+), the whole atmosphere is chilled. You can sip your coffee (or cocktail) without chaos and stretch out by the pool in peace.

Rooms and Comfort

We stayed in a “Keep The Secret” room with a sea and pool view – one of the five room types available at Amàre Ibiza, along with I Was Here, Make It Happen, Oh Là Là, and Dolce Vita (suite). Each room has its own personality, but all share the same contemporary, light filled design and modern comforts.

Some of the higher categories, like Oh Là Là and Dolce Vita, also come with access to “The One” which is an exclusive private lounge offering snacks, drinks, and extra VIP-style perks throughout the day. It’s one of those value added touches that really elevates your stay – especially if you love a little extra luxury.

What we loved:

  • The bed was incredibly comfortable (we both had the best night’s sleep).

  • The balcony overlooking the bay and the pools was perfect for morning coffee or a quiet pre dinner drink. You still felt like you were part of the action (or relaxation) down below, even from your room.

  • Nice touches like a Nespresso machine, Molton Brown toiletries, a rainfall shower, and mood lighting made the space feel extra relaxed.

  • I also loved the open wardrobe too – it was a key feature of the room and you felt like your Ibiza outfits were being showcased!

Final Room Verdict:
Whether you go for a standard room or splash out on a suite, every option at Amàre offers that blend of comfort, style and serenity. For a girls’ getaway – especially with just 48 hours – it felt like the perfect home base for our stay.

Pools, Views and Atmosphere

If there’s one thing Amàre absolutely nails, it’s the pool scene. There are three pools to choose from including the show-stopping rooftop infinity pool that looks out across San Antonio Bay. It’s the kind of view that makes you reach for your camera every five minutes.

The atmosphere is exactly what you’d want from an adults-only hotel in Ibiza and it is upbeat but was never rowdy (this is the last thing that we wanted). During the day, there’s chilled house music playing, drinks flowing from the pool bar and the occasional live sax player or DJ set to remind you exactly where you are. You can tell the hotel really gets that balance right: fun and entertaining but still relaxing.

If you prefer something quieter, there are plenty of sun loungers tucked away or you can head to the Jacuzzi terrace for a more peaceful soak with sea views. The staff are attentive and there’s always someone around to top up your drink.

If you prefer to sunbathe by the sand, rest assured that there is a small private beach area here too. Ideal for those that want a change from the pool!

And then there’s sunset – a whole event in itself in Ibiza. We didn’t actually watch the sunset from the rooftop bar here but we heard it is epic and something we would have liked to have seen if we stayed a little longer – maybe next time!

Food and Drink

The food at Amàre is another highlight. We opted for bed and breakfast but there’s also a half-board option (buffet breakfast and dinner, drinks not included).

Breakfast was exceptional; a fresh buffet spread with everything from cooked options and eggs made to order, to delicious pastries, fresh fruit and smoothies. Why does the fruit abroad just hits differently?! You could easily linger here for an hour before starting your day.

There are several spots for food and drinks throughout the day:

  • Amàre Lounge by the pool – perfect for lazy lunches.

  • Hayaca Restaurant – the rooftop restaurant run by a Michelin-starred chef, serving Latin-Mediterranean fusion dishes with an incredible sunset view.

  • The rooftop bar – for cocktails, DJs and dreamy views over the bay.

If you’re debating whether to dine out or stay in, I’d say mix it up – try the rooftop restaurant one night and explore local options (I have listed several recommendations in my piece on how to spend 48 hours in Ibiza – read it here).

Entertainment and Extras

True to Ibiza style, Amàre keeps the energy alive without tipping into rowdiness – it still feels like an escape. Each day brings something a little different with live DJs, sax players or chilled acoustic sessions.

The hotel also offers yoga classes and personal training sessions on the rooftop (ideal if you’re looking to balance out all those cocktails). There’s a spa, hair salon and fitness centre too, plus an ever changing rotation of contemporary art installations that give the space a cool creative vibe and I love how they do this with repeat guests in mind.

I have to say – the staff were genuinely lovely too. They were friendly, professional and always ready to help; it’s something the hotel prides itself on.

Location and Getting Around

Located in Cala de Bou, Amàre Ibiza sits on the quieter side of San Antonio Bay. You’re only about 10 – 15 minutes by taxi from the heart of San Antonio but you’re far enough out to enjoy peace and privacy when you want it.

It’s also a great base for exploring nearby beaches like Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida which are all reachable within 20 – 30 minutes. Just note: taxis can be tricky in peak season (as I mentioned in my 48 Hours in Ibiza blog), so bear this in mind if travelling at peak times.

Who It’s Perfect For

If you’re planning a girls’ trip, a couples’ getaway or simply need a child free weekend to recharge, Amàre Ibiza absolutely has that balance of chill and chic and it truly does encapsulate those Ibiza vibes that make the island so special and unique. It’s full of thoughtful details that make your stay feel special.

Final Thoughts

Amàre Ibiza reminded me that grown up, girls only getaways can be restorative, not just fun-filled! It’s laughter, sunsets, good food, glam and a little glimpse of a more care free version of myself (before the days of mental load and responsibilities!) It was nice to feel that way again, even just for a moment.

After years of family travel, having a couple of days to completely switch off felt like pressing reset. No schedules or interruptions. It was the perfect reminder that we all need a break sometimes – and us mums especially!
